Backpacker Travelling to Bangkok

I was travelling to Bangkok 4 days 3 night in May'2015 which falls into the period of continuous public holiday in Malaysia. It was just a short gateway but with a great opportunity in experience travelling as a backpacker.

To and Fro Sky Bus from KL Sentral <==> KLIA with frequent departure time and takes about
an hour journey.
1) Buy on the spot - RM 10 per way
2) Get RM 8.90/per way when purchase an add on at AirAsia.

*My Airasia airfare ticket for round trip was RM 209 (Kuala Lumpur-Don Muang) + RM 109 (Don Muang - Kuala Lumpur).

Due to my flight was landed in the afternoon, so quickly get to Chatuchak Weekend Market
[Sat & Sun: 09:00 - 1800]
*Getting there : MRT-Kamphaeng Phet (Exit 2) /BTS-Mo Chit (Exit 1)
*Follow the crowd and passing through a public park, you will get there!

It is a very big market and has divided into several sessions. No worries, just enjoy and you will not get lost. The day was super hot and had a quick try on coconut ice cream with topping cost 35-40฿.

Anyway, this market has impressed me as it is super clean and no rubbish on the road!!I have no offence but people who staying in Malaysia and went to Night Market (Pasar Malam) should have understand it.

Siam Paragon

Many says pork burger in Thai is so yummy yummy...But sorry to say I find it below average. =P

POD Hostel, near to Victory Monument. I have an excellent review at this Hostel. The hostel equipped with friendly staff, nice lobby cafe, clean and comfortable bed,

My booking was done via Booking.com/promotion. It is safe, convenient and enjoy zero cancellation fee.

Day 2: Damnoen Saduak Floating Market
Daily [7am-11am], the earlier the better.

There are plenty of mini van services around the victory monument but mostly towards other destination. Do be mindful when seeking help from the locals. Primary reason is they don't understand English and they don't actually know the right place. A blind leading a blind...and you are no where. They pointed me here and there but all went to wrong places.

Finally, I asked the right person and he showed me the way. Walk towards the direction of "century" tower or at the bottom of victory monument BTS station. Perhaps you may start asking after you are around that place. Don't go far from the direction, else you might get lost and waste a lot of time.

This are banners/boards in front of the entrance, I don't understand the Thai Language but I hope it helps.

At this station, there are 14 seats van from Victory Monument to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market/MaeKlong Market. It is towards the same route. You will be reaching MaeKlong Market before Damnoen Saduak Floating Market.

It cost 90฿ and journey time taken was about 2 hours. The mini Van will stops you right at the floating market. Way back from the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market to Victory Monument, you may request 7-eleven staff help to make a call. In 10-15 minutes, there will be drivers will come and pick up at your door step without extra charges,100฿.

For friends who are travelling to Bangkok and train to visit MaeKlong Market, please note that

The authority is closing train track for maintenance from 13th May to 10th November 2015 until further notice.

Day 2 - Part 2 : Kanchanaburi

Stay at VN Guest House, opposite the war cemetery which is nearer to Kanchanaburi railway station instead of bus station. With that, I took a motorbike taxi which cost 20฿ only after little bargain. Worth riding!

River Kwai. This is a railway which full of history in World War II. Shall watch the award winning movie "The Bridge On The River Kwai"

At this beautiful town,I have met a new friend from Hatyai, Thailand. I believe this is the best story backpacker looking for. We shared stories, We shared foods.

"The withering away of the darkness and the rising of the sun signifies the most important aspect of life – despair giving way for hope. "
This is 6am with a bright sky view from my balcony. Arh,...I miss this place!

There is little imperfection as I din't travel down to Nan Tok due to lack of time. My suggestion is to allocate more time here is you would like to enjoy the slower pace and peacefulness in the small town. I will be right back!!

Anyway, do expect delay of the train from schedule.

Chao Phraya Express Boat with 15฿ per way or 150฿ for unlimited ride to all the attractions.
Been getting up and down from one destination to another destination.

I am then visited Khao San Road which is also known as backpackers district. A nice place chilling and have a massage with great price. Time to relax....

I was staying at Bewel hostel, 10-15 minutes from Khao San Road. A very small room and squeezed in with 6-8 persons. Little unpleasant was I have paid for 6 persons room but assigned to 8 persons room just because of mistakes by the staff.
Due to I was checking in at late night, I was just stop any further argument and have a good rest.

Last but not least, personally I would recommend to contact the hostel if they provide mini van pick up service from the door steps which could save you lots of time and not to missed out from flight.
