What is Marketing Affiliate and Why Join As An Affiliate

What is Marketing Affiliate and Why Join As Affiliate:

An affiliate program is a marketing program where you receive commissions for promoting another separate company’s products. The parent company provides you with all the marketing tools you will need such as banner ads, links and coupons codes to be placed on your website and other marketing pieces. When the links or ads on your site are used to generate a sale for the product, a commission is paid out.

The affiliate marketing programs are widely viewed as a profitable, win-win situation for both parties involved in this process. Affiliation is becoming an increasingly powerful online marketing tool, as more and more worldwide merchants are establishing affiliate programs. Studies show that nearly half of these networks count several thousands affiliates each. Even if the amount of sales is rather far from equal to those made by means of sponsored links or e-mailing, affiliate marketing allows merchants to extend the presence of their brands on the Web, targeting especially those sites that are in direct relationship with their target. This is actually a very efficient strategy to attract prospective customers to their Web sites.

With a careful selection, affiliate programs can bring in good reward with relatively low to zero risk and cost as compared to start own business and design a new product. It would be favorable for people looking for passive income and work from home.

Affiliate Marketing Models:

1. Pay Per click also referred to as cost per click.
You get paid every time your link or banner is clicked on from the affiliates site. Mainly based on unique clicks but sometimes raw clicks are used to calculate your commission.

2. Pay per Sale also referred to as pay per action or pay per performance.
You get paid for the results in the form of commission, or a set fee, for a sale or sign up. If you get paid for results, the commission can be much higher than achieving a lower amount per click.

3. Pay per Lead also referred to as pay per action or pay per performance.
Similar to pay per sale, except it is a step back in the sales process. If a merchant has a product or service that cannot be sold online (such as a company offering bespoke building work, or a mortgage advice service) and needs to have some form of face to face, or telephone contact before a sale, the you are paid for generating the lead.

How To Choose Affiliate Program :

*Reputation of the network
Make sure to check into what is being said about the network. Is it a reputable company that is running the program? What about the other affiliates? Are they selling products that have an appeal? Do the other members participate at the level you are expecting? Watch for red flags on any of these as it can end up costing you a great deal of time if chosen incorrectly.

*Interest in the products
Choose a network that offers products that are of interest to you in some way. The most efficient step to take is to join a network that offers products similar to yours. These will be easier to promote and will be more intriguing to you and the other affiliates as both parties would have a vested interest in sharing these products. Also make sure there is a demand for the products in order for you to be successful. Before deciding on a product, do some research into the number of people looking searching for keywords associated with that product. Higher search volume increases the likelihood of sales.

*Commissions
A significant amount of time is invested in operating a good marketing program. The commission percentage attached to the products advertised has to be worthwhile. Also check into the back end of the payment. Specifically look at what the minimum payouts are, what the schedule is for being paid and that the method in which you are paid will work for you. Nothing is worse than signing up for a program, getting it working then finding out that you can’t collect your earnings.

*Support provided
Ample support should be provided to you by the operator of the network and the participating affiliates. If problems arise with the affiliate program, it is essential that support can be received in a timely manner. Be certain that you have several methods to get in touch with customer support should it be needed. Good affiliate programs also offer tips and advice on methods to increase sales as well as adequate tools to track sales. This will give visibility on the campaign and allow for any adjustments that might need to be made.

Also make sure that the participating affiliates provide quality marketing materials for their products. Any sort of promotion should be communicated effectively and corresponding marketing materials should look professional.

*Cookie Duration
Cookies are the codes attached to the promotional materials given by other affiliates. Look for longer duration as that it increases the length with which a commission can be earned as that allows for commissions to be made. For example, a cookie that is for 30 days means that customers have 30 days to go back to the merchant website to make a purchase in order for a commission to be paid out. If someone were to visit after the 30 days, you wouldn’t get paid.

Joining an affiliate program is a great way to increase the revenue for a company. Not only do you make money when someone purchases your product, you also can earn money when people purchase through the associated websites. Taking the time to find the right one will be extremely beneficial to the company and revenue will start flowing in.

For the new joiner in this marketing program, you might get information overload such as choosing the right network, driving leads to the page, building own platform, etc.

Never give up!
Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.
